Today's hottest topic? The use of Wrigley Field as a football field, or... half a football field. As a by-birth Cubs fan [Exhibit A: my dad grew up in Chicago, Exhibit B: my brother's name is Clark Addison- see below] I knew it used to be used as a football field, but as I saw them painting the marquee purple this week I couldn't help but cringe... it's just weird to me. I don't like it. This guy agrees.

| I don't hate Northwestern- it was my 1st college of choice [until I visited Aggieland] |
So, while all you college-football fans go to a newly painted purple field of failure, just remember to respect the field. Respect the stadium. Cubs baseball is sacred. It's more important than your College Game Day Status may make you believe it is. And just remember, while you're only playing to one end of the field, and the fans are sitting way too far away to actually appreciate the game.. I'll be screaming my lungs out in College Station during the 12th Man Day... where we're going to beat the ever-living hell outta Nebraska. Just you wait.
I hope you all enjoy the games going on the next few days.

We are HUGE baseball fans also! How weird they're using it for football games. That's right-- protect that field! Wrigley is one of the most FAMOUS fields. My brother is a huge baseball fan and has a dream of visiting every ball park before he dies. (He's only 17 so he's doing great!) He went to Wrigley a few years ago and loved it. Fun Fact: my grandpa played professional baseball and was on the Cubs (: (Hobie Landrith) Google him!
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome. I will Google him for sure!
