Recipe of the Week: Stew (Making with #Reverb10)

Although I write about what I'm cooking every Monday, this post perfectly coincides with today's #Reverb10 prompt:
December 6 – Make.
What was the last thing you made? What materials did you use? Is there something you want to make, but you need to clear some time for it?

The last thing I made was Stew.I know it's not an art project, a sewing project, etc... but I think food is just as much "art" as anything. The materials are simple: beef broth, beef, peas, pearl onions and seasoning. I put it in a crock pot for 4 hours, and then I had a warm meal to make this December weather just that much better. You can see an actual recipe for Beef Stew here. Here's my recipe:

  • 2 lbs. beef stew meat (depending on how much stew you want)
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 onion
  • 1 package frozen peas
  • 1 package frozen pearl onions
Season the beef, cut up the onion and put in the Crock Pot with the beef broth. Cook for about 3 hours on high (or 6 hours on low). Add the peas and pearl onions, cook for 1 hour on high, or 2 hours on low. Eat, and enjoy! Season however you like, whenever you like-- that's the creative side of things. ♥

Now as far as other "making" projects go... I am halfway through a scrapbook I should have finished in May. So I'm only 6 months behind. My plan/hope is to be done with it before Christmas. *Fingers crossed*
