The 10th Season Premier of American Idol!!
It was the same... yet it had a hint of freshness. The right amount of freshness. It was light, but not too fluffy. Steven Tyler is annoying, but experienced. Jennifer Lopez is a diva, but not in a bad way. Randy and Ryan are exactly the same... but, it needed some continuity from the past 9 seasons.
Although I'm not telling you anything you couldn't have figured out by the poster.
There were of course, the good mixed in with the bad... the overplaying of popular songs (especially Miley Cyrus' "Party in the USA')... and the newly added feature of Steven Tyler checking out 16 year old girls.
And oh my goodness... who told the youth of America that "Black Velvet" was the song to audition with?!? If you've seen the audition shows even once, you would've seen that poor song butchered. It's dreadful and probably my least favorite part of every season.
That and the bad puns.
I'm really excited about this season!!! (if you couldn't already tell)
I was 12 when I first saw the show... so I've literally grown up watching it ♥
(That makes me sound so young!)
Here's a quick recap of last night's first auditions in New Jersey...
