Gleeful Thoughts: March 15

i’m totally in love with this scene!

Oh, man. Last week's episode was  intense. And really good. I think it probably pissed some people off, but from most of the reviews I'm seeing it has been highly acclaimed.

Naya Rivera (Santana) was amazing. Her speech(es) to Brittany were really emotional, and really well delivered. That may have been the only truly shocking moment for me. They just kind of threw that at us, and if the acting had been lame it wouldn't have worked. But the acting was actually good. So the point was taken.

Second praise: The honesty between Kurt and his dad Burt about sex was perfectly awkward. I love how Kurt really is a scared teenage boy, afraid of sex and embarrassed to talk to his dad about it. And I think Burt said some amazing things that a lot of teenagers need to hear. "Sex does something to you even when you think it isn't." {via a great review}

But the highlight of the night: Miss Holly Holiday. I wasn't really too big of a fan of Gwyneth Paltrow's character the first go-around. But I thought she was amazing last week! The tango to Prince was awesome. The Joan Jett song was great. And her little bits here and there throughout the episode really made her character come alive. And I liked it. And she kissed Mr. Shue! So she's not going anywhere.

I'm just really excited I'm not bored with Glee right now! I was so bored by the end of the fall semester that I considered not coming back in the spring (yeah right). But my decision to keep watching has been justified every week. It's getting better, not worse. So here's to hoping the amazing-ness will continue!

Here's the Glee-wind in case you need a reminder...

And so moving on to tonight... "Original Song" (aka Regionals)

  • First of all -- someone's dying
  • It'll be Quinn vs. Rachel for Finn's affection. Again. (Are you sick of this story line too?)
  • Kurt and Blaine. Stay tuned.

Check out all the other insights here. And have fun watching tonight! And does anyone want to see a little sneak preview? You know you do! So here goes...

  1. I agree with everything you said about the episode. I'm obsessed with Miss Holiday, Santana, and Brittany's "Landslide."

    And SOOOOO misleading about the spoiler "someone's dying." But I'm glad no person died.
