Saturday Snapshots: There's Always 2 Ways to Look at It...

Saturday, May 14, 2011

C & I have been blessed with having so many talented friends over the years. Talented writers, talkers, cooks, photographers, artists, etc. I'm always amazed at the beauty people can create with their hands. Like I've said in that past, I'm not a very creative/artistic person... and I think that almost helps to make me more appreciative of art, and the talent of our friends.

When C & I went to have our engagement pictures taken, there was no question about who we would ask. Sarah Joy, a very dear, long-time friend (who's actually pursuing her Masters in Art Therapy right now in some fancy, schmancy University in Chicago), was our go-to girl. She'd helped us over the years - even giving us dancing lessons before Senior prom - and so we hired her to do our engagement pictures. Which turned out gorgeous.

Once we were married, we had the privilege of meeting Janna, who was at the time pursuing her Undergraduate degree in Studio Arts, and has since gotten that degree. While Janna was still in school, though, she had an assignment to paint "outside lighting". And she asked if she could use one our engagement pictures. So we said yes, of course. She picked the picture above, and this came of it...

I love to see how the two look so much alike, but yet are still completely different forms of art. What do you think?

PS - those are totally my Kate Spade shoes ♥
