I've actually been published about 15 times in the 2 months that I've been writing for them. I wish I had the time to write more, but twice a week is about all I have the time for. (Especially with this blog & work & trying to accomplish my 2011 To-Do List!) But I really want the experience of assigned writing. I've especially enjoyed being assigned articles about topics that I have absolutely no interest in. It's really helping to push me farther - and to broaden my horizons.
My favorite piece I've written so far was "Fly Nano - Personal Aircraft". It was all about these personal aircrafts that were being released to the public for a
I've gotten to write about Arts & Culture, too. A Picasso painting for sale here, a modern-day furniture display there, even visual arts design by NOSAJ THING. This visual art design things was actually pretty cool. It's definitely a type of music and art that I've never even seen or experienced. Not sure if I'm a fan but it was still fascinating to learn about... here's a sample:
The hardest piece I had to write was about the rap group A Tribe Called Quest. I had never heard of the group, don't really like rap, and felt really inadequate writing the piece. But I felt really proud of it after the fact! Unfortunately, the editors decided to not publish this piece. So I've now had my first official "failure" as a journalists too. And I have to say - it actually feels good to be turned down for one piece, but then emailed another list of 5 more stories to do. I think they've learned to keep me off the articles about rap ;)
My most recent post was about a new short film by Richard Phillips starring only Lindsay Lohan. Here's what I wrote... "Lindsay Lohan by Richard Phillips"
I'll be posting some of my articles over here every once in a while - you know, the really cool one - because I love sharing things I'm learning ♥

Lindsay Lohan. Say her name and there’s a million reactions. Even behind closed doors, during her current house arrest, Lindsay Lohan is still making headlines. The latest was regarding her debut back onto film. Albeit it’s a short film. Simply titled “Lindsay Lohan”, the artistically designed piece is directed by Richard Phillips in collaboration with surf filmmaker Tayor Steele. The film stars only Ms. Lohan, is completely silent, and has questionable motives.
There’s one certain thing, however, which is getting people’s attention: Lindsay Lohan looks good. Phillips himself said that Lohan “has an incredible emotional and physical presence on screen,” and he tries to capture it with artistic design. With Lohan almost naked in some shots, completely wet in others, or in an artistic black turtleneck just - there is no doubt Phillips was trying to use Lohan to make a statement. The short film was screened at the Gagosian Gallery as part of “Commercial Break,” presented by the Garage Center for Contemporary Culture June 1-5 in Venice, Italy.
