Tomorrow is December. The last month of 2012. Only 31 days left until a new year. With a new focus, new goals, and new purpose. Only 31 days until a clean slate. Even if that clean slate is only imaginary, it's still there to me - and I don't take it for granted.
I've been running through Project: Declutter since April, and it was a good decision for me to make. I had found myself making too grand of a monthly goals list, and I was failing miserably. Project: Declutter helped me simplify, focus, and succeed.
November's 3 simple goals were to (1) Stay Healthy, (2) Enjoy Family, & (3) Enjoy What I Have. And I can stand here today & can honestly say I did just that. I started running daily, we had family pictures taken, and I didn't shop on Black Friday because I didn't need anything (with the exception of a pair of shoes that I desperately needed, pictured above).
So, now, moving forward to December:
One: Finish Well
I want to see my commitments, jobs & tasks through to the end. I don't want to slack off because "it's Christmas!!" ... I want to finish projects that I've just been putting off (like finishing my office decorating). I also want this blog to end 2012 on a good note.
Two: Plan Well
Looking forward into 2013, I see a blank slate that's just waiting for me to fill it in. When I planned for 2012, I set my sights high and dreamed for the moon. When I'm planning for 2013 I want to do the same, but set more milestones along the way. I want to be purposeful and realistic.
Three: Reflect & Appreciate
While I'm looking forward, I don't want to forget where I've come from and what I've done in 2012. I want to be able to learn from my experience, and to really give thanks and appreciation where it's due. Reflection is one of my favorite things to do, and this is the best time of the year to do it.
Here's to a wonderful month! ♥
