Well, we've almost made it to the end of award show season. The Oscars are this Sunday, and I am happy to report that not only have we seen all 9 of the Best Picture nominees (one of which is a foreign film), but 4 of the Best Documentary nominees and all of the Short Live Action nominees.
It's been eventful around here. Watching all of these is a good 4-month project at least. And that doesn't include all of my obsessing.
Before I take next week off blogging, and the Oscars come & pass us by, I wanted to stop and take the time to thank my partner in awards show season crime for all of his patience, support, and interest (whether feigned or not). So....

Christian,
Thank you for understanding my desire to take part in the awards show season. Thank you for taking the time away from doing things you'd rather do, and prioritizing my desires. When you first followed me into this awards show season black hole many years ago, I never dreamed you'd be as supportive and enthusiastic as you are today.
Thank you for sitting through silent French films, doing research of when the Oscar shorts would be available for download, and for going out of you way to see movies out of town that aren't showing in Bryan. The trips to these other towns is one of my favorite parts.
Thank you for discussing the films with me intelligently. Thank you for having opinions and sharing them openly with me. Thank you for disagreeing with me. And thank you for helping me to develop deeper understandings of things when I miss out. Most importantly: thank you for listening to me & my opinions.
I truly appreciate the patience you show when I sit down to enjoy the red carpet. I appreciate that you'll allow me to comment on dresses and hair and manicures and jewelry. And I absolutely love when you chime in when you do have an opinion.
Thank you for always being willing to jump up and pour the champagne, because I'm too enthralled to move from the couch. Thank you for giving me ideas for awards show food, and wanting to truly help make the whole experience special for me.
It is a blessing to have a husband willing to sacrifice his time and effort to indulge his wife's desires. It is a beautiful thing. It makes me feel understood, cherished and loved.
You only have one more night to endure, then about 9 months off.
With all the love and appreciation,
Your wife ♥
