Two weeks ago I received a text message from my dad telling me that my mom was in the hospital and that he was scared. I was immediately in shock, started crying, and told Christian to come home immediately because I couldn't be alone another second. The next day, I drove the 2 hours to my parents and sat next to mom in the hospital for 2 days.
Luckily, the doctor said that she was healthy and the issue wasn't life-threatening.
We all hugged and cheered, I showed my parents what Vine was, we had lunch, and I came back home to continue on as normal. My parents did the same, and now it's like that scare never happened. Except I can't stop thinking about what if the doctor told us the opposite news? What if it didn't have a happy ending?
So on this Valentine's Day, I wanted to write a love note to the one person who has loved me the longest and the hardest: my mom.

Mom,
I want to let you know that you have made it possible for me to be the well-adjusted person that I am today. You raised me with love and kindness, and sacrificed your own career and personal life to invest in me with everything you could.
You sacrificed money and time and effort, and graciously gave me away to a man to take over for you... even though we both know there's a place in every daughter's heart that can't be filled by their husband... and I'm extremely happy and blessed that you are the one that can fill that piece up.
I love that as I'm getting older, our relationship is evolving to more than mother-daughter. I love that I can tell you my secrets and fears and triumphs and successes - and that you can me yours. I love that we are open and honest with each other. And I love how much fun drinking a bottle of wine with you can be.
So thank you for your love, for your support and for your sacrifices.
You were the best mom any of us could have hoped for. And I hope that you feel incredibly loved and blessed on this Valentine's Day. ♥
Love always,
Amy

Have a fantastic Valentine's Day!
